Len Richmond is a 29-year-old film-maker. He made a documentary of the Los Angeles Gay Liberation Front, has worked for KQED Educational Television in San Francisco, and made some award-winning animated films. He grew up in Whittier, California. Gary Noguera was born and raised in New York City. He moved to California in 1970 and began compiling this book soon afterward. He has traveled to various parts of the world, including India as a follower of Avatar Meher Baba. At 21, he is a cross between a burnt-out New Yorker and a California nature child. Len and Gary met at a Gay Liberation Front meeting in San Francisco in 1970 and have been together since. They have been involved in gay politics in Berkeley, Los Angeles, London, and San Francisco. Len and Gary are lovers (but not in a monogamous, role-playing way). They now live in Mill Valley, a small town just outside San Francisco, with their dog Tony (who is also gay).
