Len Richmond is a 29-year-old filmmaker known for his contributions to gay history, including a documentary about the Los Angeles Gay Liberation Front. He has worked for KQED Educational Television in San Francisco and created several award-winning animated films. Growing up in Whittier, California, he developed a passion for civil rights and LGBT activism. Gary Noguera, who was born and raised in New York City, moved to California in 1970. Soon after, he began compiling this book, drawing from his travels around the world, including India, where he followed Avatar Meher Baba. At 21, he embodies a blend of a burnt-out New Yorker and a California nature child. Len and Gary met during a Gay Liberation Front meeting in San Francisco in 1970 and have been partners ever since. They actively engage in gay politics across Berkeley, Los Angeles, London, and San Francisco. Len and Gary are lovers, embracing their relationship in a free-spirited way rather than through traditional monogamous roles. They currently reside in Mill Valley, a small town just outside San Francisco, alongside their dog Tony, who is also part of their colorful family.
